Mr. Trafton has more than eleven years’ experience in architectural design, production of construction drawings, specifications, and construction administration.  As JN+A’s Director of Architecture, he oversees the progress of the design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration of most of JN+A’s architectural projects.  He is often the main liaison between the Client and the architectural project team.

Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Trafton held various positions of responsibility at architecture firms in the Washington, D.C. area, gaining knowledge in all facets of the profession and experience with diverse building types, including hospitality, commercial, educational, and government facilities.  Mr. Trafton’s specific leadership roles have included two years as a Project Architect and three years as a job captain.  In these roles, he has been responsible for drawing production, code analysis, supervising team members, maintaining quality control, interfacing with clients and code officials, and coordinating with consultants.

Mr. Trafton received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Ball State University.  He is a licensed Architect in Maryland, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.  He is an expert in surveying, documenting, and bringing numerous projects into compliance with ADA, federal, and state guidelines.
