JONATHAN C. NEHMER, AIA, ISHC

CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDER

Mr. Nehmer is a licensed architect with expertise in all facets of architecture and interior design, design management, project management, and construction administration. His more than 30 years of experience includes work as an owner’s representative in the direction and management of commercial, institutional, residential, and hospitality projects.

Prior to founding Jonathan Nehmer + Associates, Inc., Mr. Nehmer worked on the feasibility, design, and construction of real estate development projects for several major corporations. His experience includes development of Ramada Hotels from 1984 to 1989, where he held the position of Vice President of Design and Technical Services. From 1978 to 1984, he was employed as an architect for the Marriott Corporation.

Mr. Nehmer has extensive experience in all phases of construction. He has managed construction from the bidding and negotiation stage through completion of the project. His proven abilities in construction and design give him the unique qualifications to provide total design and construction Project Management services for the client.

Regarded as an industry expert, Mr. Nehmer has been featured in numerous publications and discussion panels. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. Mr. Nehmer also holds a certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and has served as the vice president of the Potomac Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

WARREN FELDMAN, AIA

CEO

Mr. Feldman has expertise in all facets of Project Management, Architecture and Interior Design, Design Management, and Construction Administration. His experience includes work as Architect and Owner’s Representative in the direction and management of commercial, institutional, educational, residential, and hospitality projects. Complementing his education in Architecture, Mr. Feldman completed his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University and is a member of the Maryland Bar.

Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Feldman worked on the feasibility, design, and construction of diverse projects including hotels, high-rise commercial corporate headquarters, educational facilities, civic projects, and housing development projects. His experience includes managing construction of several 5-10 million dollar projects at Hess Construction Company. From 1988 to 1994, he was employed as an Associate with Grimm and Parker P.C., where he was responsible for the Architecture and Construction Administration of numerous projects ranging in size from 1.5 million to 22 million dollars.

In addition to hotel, commercial, institutional, and residential design, Mr. Feldman has extensive experience in all phases of construction. He has managed construction from the bidding and negotiation stage through completion of the project.

He received his Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Feldman also served as Director of the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He is also fluent in Spanish.

SCOTT P. ROSENBERG, AIA, MRICS, LEED AP, BD+C

PRESIDENT

Mr. Rosenberg is President of Jonathan Nehmer + Associates, Inc. (JN+A), an international Architecture, Interior Design, and Project Management firm specializing in the hospitality industry. He is also a Principal with HVS Design. As President, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the firms. He has more than 25 years of experience in architecture and real estate development-related fields and is a licensed Architect in 25 states and the District of Columbia. His design experience includes hotels, restaurants, office buildings, and mixed-use retail centers. He takes a unique, holistic approach of real estate strategy and master planning to create practical solutions to add value to hospitality assets.

Prior to joining JN+A in 2007, Mr. Rosenberg was president of Rosenberg A+I, P.C., a full-service architecture, planning, and interiors firm founded in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida; a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland; and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins, teaching in their M.S. Real Estate Program.

ROBERT E. TRAFTON, AIA, LEED AP

VICE PRESIDENT

Mr. Trafton has more than fifteen years’ experience in architectural design, production of construction drawings, specifications, and construction administration. As JN+A’s Vice President, he oversees the progress of the design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration of most of JN+A’s architectural projects. He is often the main liaison between the Client and the architectural team.

Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Trafton held various positions of responsibility at architecture firms in the Washington, D.C. area, gaining knowledge in all facets of the profession and experience with diverse building types, including hospitality, commercial, educational, and government facilities. Mr. Trafton’s specific leadership roles have included two years as a Project Architect and three years as a job captain. In these roles, he has been responsible for drawing production, code analysis, supervising team members, maintaining quality control, interfacing with clients and code officials, and coordinating with consultants.

Mr. Trafton received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ball State University and is a licensed architect in Maryland. He is an expert in surveying, documenting, and bringing numerous projects into compliance with ADA, federal, and state guidelines.

MATTHEW P. HUDSON, CCM

DIRECTOR OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Mr. Hudson serves as Director of Project Management for JN+A and brings over 25 years of experience in the construction industry and over 20 years in a management position. As Director, he will be responsible for on-site coordination, RFI identification and management, quality control, submittal review, change order management, estimating, and scheduling.

Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Hudson served as an Owner Representative Construction Manager with Schaefer Construction Management. In this role, he oversaw the Owner’s interest including programming, RFP development, design, budgeting, permitting, contracting, processing payments, lien releases, scheduling, budget tracking, project completion and closeout for a variety of projects.

Mr. Hudson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing from Shepherd University and has been a Certified Construction Manager since 2010.

T. RUSSEL CLEM, JR, LEED AP, BD+C

DIRECTOR

Mr. Clem has over 20 years of experience in design development, composition, production, and coordination of construction documents and extensive experience in computer systems and CAD management. He also has extensive knowledge of sustainable design and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

As the Director of JN+A, he oversees the development of construction documents and details for a number of projects, managing the project team during the design phase, providing construction administration services once his projects reach the construction phase, and monitoring the project’s progress through to completion, at which time he completes the final punch list for the building and assists in turnover to operations.
As Manager of Information Systems, Mr. Clem is responsible for the supervision and administration of all CAD and administrative computer operations including file management of all CAD projects, office CAD standards, and system setup and maintenance. He also takes a lead role in the creation of presentation materials that include brochures, presentation boards of elevations, renderings, and site and floor plans, 3D animation “virtual tour” videos, and CD-ROM marketing materials.

Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Clem was a CAD architect and CAD Operations Director for a firm that provided architectural services for many federal government projects both in the U.S. and abroad. In this capacity, he gained expertise in designing in both metric and imperial dimensions. His experience in computer systems management also includes the provision of architectural and computer aided facility management services to all of the Washington, DC area offices of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Mr. Clem received his Associates Degree in Architectural Technology from Montgomery Community College and AutoLisp Programming training from the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering.

LAURA B. KELLEY

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Ms. Kelley has over ten years’ experience in Marketing and Corporate Communications. As JN+A’s director of Marketing, she oversees all public and client relations throughout the firm. She diligently manages project leads and is an expert at creating RFPs and Proposals for prospective clients. In addition to completing these tasks, Ms. Kelley also coordinates all speaking engagements, meetings, and trips for the principles of the firm.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from McDaniel College.
