HISTORY | The firm was founded in 1989 by Jonathan C. Nehmer, AIA, to provide Project Management, Architecture, and Design and Construction Consulting services for Real Estate Development projects. Prior to founding JN+A, Mr. Nehmer had fifteen years of experience in the development, design, and construction of real estate projects. Since its founding, JN+A has expanded its capabilities to provide Interior Design, Litigation Support and Mediation Services, Pre-Construction Services, and CAD Animation and Marketing Support. JN+A is currently licensed to practice in the majority of the United States, and its principals are certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. JN+A’s portfolio includes projects in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Caribbean, and represents all of the major hotel brands: Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, InterContinental, Choice, Wyndham, Kimpton, Loews, and many more. Staff members have published articles in several national magazines and served as lecturers at Universities and national and regional meetings on Architecture and Development.
PHILOSOPHY | The firm’s philosophy and approach to its projects is based upon the collaboration of the entire project team throughout the process. JN+A strongly believes that in order to execute the desires and requirements of the Client, input is required from all members of the team. This includes all design consultants, the Client, the contractor, and the end user. Within JN+A, this same type of collaboration creates a product that is superior to that of other design firms. While the design team within JN+A stays constant throughout the project, other members of the firm provide input through critiques, constant discussions, and peer reviews of each part of the job. This spirit of cooperation and collaboration, both within JN+A and with the other members of the design team, is critical to the success of all JN+A’s projects.
